Usakos Town Council is committed to fostering sustainable development and delivering quality services to enhance the well-being of our residents. As the administrative body of Usakos, we oversee urban planning, infrastructure development, and essential municipal services, ensuring a thriving and well-managed town. Through innovation and strategic partnerships, we aim to create a vibrant, investor-friendly environment while preserving the town’s rich history and heritage.
Located along the Khan River, approximately 200 km from Windhoek and 140 km from Swakopmund, Usakos was founded in the early 1900s as a railway hub. Once a thriving link between the coast and central Namibia, the town has faced economic shifts but is working to redefine itself beyond being just a “drive-through town.” Surrounded by the Erongo and Spitzkoppe mountains, Usakos boasts a stunning skyline and historical landmarks such as the Roman Catholic Church (1905) and the old railway station. With a growing population exceeding 3,000 residents, Usakos remains focused on economic growth, investment opportunities, and preserving its cultural heritage.
